Anyone who has a cat knows how much they love to knead. Kneading is a natural behavior for cats and starts when they are tiny kittens. Kittens knead in order to help their mothers produce milk for them to suckle. This behavior continues when kittens become adults.
It’s adorable when kitties knead, but it can be painful if it’s you they choose to knead on. Cats prefer soft areas for kneading (similar to their mother’s teats) so they will likely target a soft blanket or towel. Giving your feline friend a fleece cat bed will allow him to knead to his heart’s content and his purr will let you know he’s happy.
